Browse the map
Click within the map on the top page to display the map of the area clicked.

Search by keyword
Click the down arrow

Search layers
Select the [Layer] to be displayed.

Input an address or facility name and click Search to display results for information within the selected layer and any added notes.

Select the desired information from the search results to display the map centered on that location.

Search a range
Select a range and search for facilities within that range.
Click the down arrow

at the right of the search bar. Select [Search Information] and check the box next to [Specify Area].

Click [Search] and the color of the box will change.

Left click on the map and drag the mouse to display the box.

Release the mouse button to set a range to search for facilities.

Use Google search
Input an address or facility name and click Search to display Google Search results.
(On the top page, Google search is not available as search option.)

Select the desired information from the search results to display the map centered on that location.

Search for an address
Select an address from the menu to display a local map. If more detailed information is available when an address is clicked, a further address menu will appear. Continue clicking until a local map centered on that address is displayed.

Search for a facility
Select a facility from the menu to display a local map centered on that facility.

Operate the map
Move around the map
■Move around the map
Move the map location by clicking and dragging in any direction.

■Use the 8-point compass
Click on the compass at the top left of the map to move in the chosen direction.

Change the scale
■ Use the zoom bar
Click on the +/- icons or the zoom bar at the left of the map to zoom in or out.

■ Double-click to zoom
Double-click anywhere on the map to zoom in to that location.
■ Use the mouse wheel
Use the mouse wheel to zoom the map in or out. Roll the wheel away from you to zoom in and toward you to zoom out.
■ Select actual scale
Select the desired scale from the list at the bottom of the map to display the map at that scale.

Select an area
Select an area to zoom in to the map.
Press the Ctrl key on the keyboard to change the cursor to a plus [+] sign.

Left click and drag the mouse on the map while holding the Ctrl key to display a box.

Release the mouse button to zoom in to that area.

Undo/redo
Click the back arrow

at the top left of the map to undo changes in location or scale.
Click the next arrow
[]
to redo changes in location or scale.
Change the theme
Click the theme name on the side panel to display a menu and change the theme.

Select a theme from the menu to display the desired thematic map.

Display to selected thematic map.

Click the map view icon

at the bottom right of the map to display the view menu. Select the desired view from the menu.

(One view is always displayed.)
Page topChange map appearance
Click [Layer] on the side panel to display layers in the current map theme. Click the layer name to show or hide the layer.

Use the transparency slider below the layer menu to change the transparency of the selected layer. Move the slider to the right to make the layer more transparent, and to the left to make it less transparent.

Detailed information
Select a feature area on the map to display information about that location. Select the desired information from the pop-up menu to display more detailed information.

Information can be saved to the clipboard from the information list or the detailed information.
Use the detailed information to set a starting point for searching a route.
Right-click within the map to display the [Information about Here] icon.

Click on [Information about Here] to display the address and map coordinates at that point.
Select either [Degrees] or [Japanese Geodetic Datum] to change the displayed coordinates.

Use street view
Drag and drop the pegman icon

at the top left of the map, onto the map to display the street view at that location. Streets where street view is available will turn blue.

at the bottom right of the map to display the settings window. Tick or untick the control name to show or hide it on the map.

Display the map on a split screen.
Use split screen
Select [Split Screen] from the settings window at the bottom right of the map to display the map on a vertically split screen. Map coordinates and scale remain the same on both sides of the screen.

Change map appearance
In split screen mode, different information can be displayed on the left and right sides.
Using the side panel, select the left side [1] or right side [2] to make changes.

Theme, view, and layers can all be changed in this mode.
■Close split screen
Click the
[]
at the top right of the right-hand screen,
or select [Single Screen] from the settings window of the left-hand screen
to return to single screen mode.

How to use functions
Show/hide side panel
Click the arrows at the right of the side panel to show or hide the panel.

Save information to clipboard
■Add/delete clipboard content
Temporarily save information to the clipboard. Click the paperclip icon
[]
on map information lists, or detailed information results to save information to the clipboard at the bottom of the map.

Select the desired information from the clipboard to move the map to that location. Click the paperclip icon again to remove it from the clipboard.

(Clipboard content is removed when the page is moved or closed. The clipboard holds a maximum of 30 pieces of information.)

at the bottom of the map to show or hide the clipboard.

Explore
Click the explore icon at the bottom of the map to show or hide the explore panel.

The explore panel lists all display information in the current map view. Display the distance by the current map center on the right bottom. Select the desired information to center the map on that location.

Specify range and explore
Select a range to search for facilities and display a list.
Click the settings icon [] at the top left of the explore panel.

Check the box next to [Specify Range] and input the size of the desired search range.

Press the Enter key on the keyboard to display a list of facilities within a square of the specified side length around the center of the map.
Input a figure of zero [0] to display all facilities within the screen.

Measure distance/land area
Click the measurement icon []
from the menu at the top right of the map to display the Measurements window. With the Measurements window open, measure distances and land areas on the map.
(Measurements are approximate only.)
Close the Measurements window to return to the previous map operation.
■Measure distance
Select [Measure Distance] to measure linear distances between points.

Click a starting point on the map and then click each consecutive straight line end-point.

Double-click the finishing point on the map to display the distance and route on the map. The information will be added to the measurement results in the window.

■Measure land size
Select [Measure Land Area] to measure the size of a particular area.

Click the starting point of an area and then click each consecutive straight line end-point.

Double-click the finishing point of the area to display the land area on the map. The information will be added to the measurement results in the window.

■Show measured area
Select a measurement from the measurement results to move the map to that location and display the measured area.

Measure outer perimeter or land area of shape
Click the measurement icon [] from the detailed information window to display the menu items [Measure Outer Perimeter] and [Measure Land Area].
Click the menu item [Measure Outer Perimeter] to measure the outer perimeter of the selected shape.

Click the menu item [Measure Land Area] to measure the land area of the selected shape.

(Measurements are approximate only.)
Page topEdit measurement
Right-click on the measured route or area to show [Edit Figure].

Select [Edit Figure] from the right-click menu to edit the measured route or area.


Save measurement to file
Select [Export to File] at the bottom of the Measurements window to save the measurement results to your computer as a KML file.

Delete measurement
Click [Delete] at the right of each measurement result in the list to delete individual measurements.

Alternatively, select [Clear Measurements] at the bottom of the Measurements window to clear all measurements.

(Selecting [Clear Measurements] does not delete the data. The data can be recovered if the URL has previously been saved.)

Click the note icon

from the menu at the top right of the map to display the Notes window.
With the Notes window open, create a note on the map.
Close the Notes window to return to the previous map operation.
■Add marker
Select the [Marker] tab in the Notes menu.
Select a marker to be added by clicking on it.

Click on the map and the marker will be placed at that location.

■Add line
Select the [Line] tab in the Notes menu.
Select line color and THICKNESS in the window.

Click a point on the map and then click consecutive points to connect them.
Double-click the finishing point to display a continuous line on the map.

■Add area
Select the [Area] tab in the Notes menu.
Select area color in the window.

Click a point on the map and then click consecutive points around an area.
Double-click the finishing point to display an area on the map.

■Add text
Select the [Text] tab in the Notes menu.
Select text color and size in the window.
Write a comment in the text box.

Click on the map and the text will be placed at that location.

■Add circle
Select the [Circle] tab in the Notes menu.
Select circle color in the window.

Click on the map at the center of the desired circle.
Drag the cursor to the size required and click again to create a circle.

(Shapes produced by this feature may not be perfect circles.)

Use the Notes window to add a note from an image or a KML file to the map.
■Add note from image with embedded GPS coordinates
Select [Register Image] from the Notes window to register a note based on GPS coordinates embedded in an image file.

Select a file and category and then click [Import] to register a note at the coordinates in the image file.

If the file does not contain embedded coordinates, after clicking [Import] just click on the map to specify a location to register a note with an image.

■Add note from KML file
Select [Import from File] from the Notes window to open the import window.

Select a KML file from the import window and then click [Import] to register the KML file as a note.



Confirm note
The added note is displayed under [Notes] in the Notes window. Click on the desired note in the notes list to move the map to that location and note.

Edit note
Click [Edit] to the right of each added note in the Notes window to edit the content of the note.

Alternatively, click the marker or note on the map and then click the note in the balloon that pops up to begin editing.

Use the pop-up Attributes window to import an image and associate it with the note.
To add an image, click [Select File] and browse for the file in the pop-up window, or drag and drop the file onto the [Drag & Drop File] button.

(The [Drag & Drop File] button may not be displayed on some browsers.)
Click the layer edit icon

at the top right of the window to move the note on the map or change its shape.
Click the undo icon
[]
to go back to the previous shape.

After moving the note or changing its shape ,
click the set icon
[]
at the top left of the map to set the changes.
Alternatively, click the cancel icon
[]
at the top left of the map to go back to the previous note.
Save note to file
Select [Export to File] at the bottom of the Notes window to download the list of notes as a KML file.

Delete note
Click [Delete] at the right of each added note in the Notes window to individually delete a note.

You can delete a note from the Attributes window.

Alternatively, select [Clear Notes] at the bottom of the Notes window to clear all registered notes from the window.

Export map image
Click the export image icon

from the menu at the top right of the map to export the current map view as a single image.

Create map link
Click the URL icon
[]
from the menu at the top right of the map to create a link
that reproduces the current map view and layer information.
■ Create map URL
The URL displayed in the URL window reproduces the current map view and layer information.
Select [Include Clipboard] to also reproduce the clipboard information in the URL.
Select [Send Email] to launch your email client and create an email with the URL in the body.

Select [QR Code] to create a two-dimensional barcode (QR code) with all the information in the URL. QR codes can be read by mobile phones with scanning support.

Search route
Click the search route icon []
from the menu at the top right of the map to search for the optimal route between specified points on the map.

Use the detailed information window to add a starting point, destination and waypoints.

Use route guidance
Click the line of note or layer to display information.

Click [Guide] to display menu [Start Guidance] and [Preparation Route].

Click [Prepare Route] to edit route for guidance from selected shape.

Click [Start Guidance] to guide along the route.

Current direction can be looked at the left bottom map.

Click the start [

] icons to oparate the guidance.

Operate to rotate and zoom by bottom right icons.

Click to finish the route guidance by top right icon.

Display location
Click the current location icon

located on the lower right of the map to display the current location on the map.

Print map
Click the print icon
[]
from the menu at the top right of the map to display a print preview in a separate window.
You can print the current map view from this window.
When detailed information is displayed, it can also be printed together with the map.
Select either [Normal Print] or [Tiled Print] for printing.
Normal Print
Use Normal Print to print the current map view on a single sheet of paper.
Select paper size and orientation in the preview window.
- Title

Enter a title for the printed map.
- Comment

Enter a comment below the title.
- Paper Size

Select paper size and the print image will be adjusted to suit.
- Paper Orientation

Select either portrait or landscape orientation and the print image will be adjusted to suit.
- Corner Coordinates

Check the box next to [Corner Coordinates] to add coordinates to all four corners of the printed map.
- North Arrow

Check the box next to [North Arrow] to add north arrow icon

Click [Print] on the print preview page to print the map. Alternatively, click [PDF] to export a PDF file to print the map.
(When using the [Print] function, the actual print settings may not reflect the paper size and orientation set in this window. In this case, settings must be changed in the printer settings window.)
Tiled Print
Use Tile Print to print the current map view using several sheets of paper.

Change the scale of the map to be printed.

Change the number of tiles for the map to be printed.

Enable or disable display of an index on each map to be printed.
- Always Center

Enable or disable the centering on the page for maps to be printed.
- Paper Size

Select paper size and the print image will be adjusted to suit.

Select either portrait or landscape orientation and the print image will be adjusted to suit.

Click [Print] on the print preview page to print the map. Alternatively, click [PDF] to export a PDF file to print the map.

Set up print page
■How to set up the print page
Click [Print] in the print preview page to display the print window.
Click [Preference] in the print window to display the advanced settings window and change paper size, orientation and other aspects of the print page.

Share note/measurement
Share file
Use the KML file export function to save notes and measurement results to your computer, and share that information by distributing the file to other users. File recipients use the [Import from File] function to read the information on the map.

Share URL
Save a URL with notes and measurements to recover data at a later time. Recovered notes and measurements can be added to, edited or deleted. Share note information with multiple users by emailing or distributing the saved URL to other users.
(If notes and measurements are changed in a shared URL, the edits are reflected in data for all users sharing the URL. No edit history, including user names or dates, is kept.)
